Greetings Friends!

     We had a good start to the Fall of 2008, but as Winter set in, the recess classes were weather-challenged! Week after week these hit: fog, ice, snow, and then rain. The blessing was the universally great attitudes among the children whenever we could hold class. They missed us, and they missed the great Bible stories we taught.

...Prairie Heights Elementary taught by CoraVee Caswell, was blessed with 257 kids in 14 clubs. Marie Dwight taught 7 classes at Milford Elementary, enrolling 126.

     In all we have 705 enrolled in our 53 classes throughout the region! Praise God!!!

     We have followed a court case about the Huntington Schools with concern. The release time classes there are threatened. The case is again on appeal, and we ask for your prayers for restoration of classes at Huntington, and for safety and continuation of our own classes.

     Last fall, the ACSC board voted a needed increase in the pay for teachers and aides. In these times of economic uncertainty, this was an act of faith. The Lord has blessed this faith with enough funds for each expense, for which we praise Him.

     We, however are anticipating a new expense. Our old mini-bus, a retired school team bus, is showing its very advanced age. We need your help on this--perhaps you know a reliable mini-bus we should check...maybe you would like to take part of this expense on as a special project…or you will pray. The mini-bus is used at 2 schools currently, and may be used at more next year. Contact Roland Roth, President, at 833-3694 or Shelly Miller, Treasurer, at 488-2907.

     We currently have positions open for board members. It involves only seven meetings per year, but it gives you a chance to share in the direction we take. If you are interested in serving, please mail your name, address, phone number, and the name of the church you attend to
